ALTEN Sweden is looking for a Software Engineer within Refrigerant & Heating Controls to join an exciting automotive development project in Gothenburg. You will be part of a highly skilled software team responsible for controlling thermal and refrigerant systems in next-generation vehicles. In this role, you will contribute to the development of control software that ensures passenger comfort, battery thermal management, and overall vehicle efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining software for vehicle refrigerant and thermal management systems.
• Designing, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting control system functionality.
• Working with Matlab/Simulink for model-based development and control design.
• Developing software solutions using C, C++, and/or Python.
• Supporting verification, validation, and fault tracing activities.
• Collaborating closely with software developers, control engineers, and system stakeholders.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of thermal and climate control functions for both cabin and battery systems.
• Participating in technical discussions and knowledge-sharing within a cross-functional team environment.

Who You Are:

• Experience working with Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience in C, C++, and/or Python development.
• Strong understanding of control systems and control theory.
• Technical education at university level or equivalent experience.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Holder of a valid driving license.
• Curious, self-driven, and eager to learn new technologies.
• A collaborative team player who is comfortable taking initiative and sharing ideas.

Meritorious Experience:

• Experience working with Git.
• Experience using TargetLink.
• Hands-on experience from Thermal or Climate Test Rigs.
• Previous experience within automotive thermal management, HVAC, or climate control systems.
